Very useful

Personally, this was one of the most useful books I've studied from during med school. I havn't thought I could really "study" for the CS part of Step 2 but, guess what, you can. Actually, some people think they just come in and have an instinct for it, I didn't think that and, yes, you need to know what your doing. This book gave great examples, put me in the mindframe, and I walked in knowing what to do. I scored well and there's nothing more to say...this book helped a lot.

like explaining how to do a breast exam

In the introduction there is an explanation that you can choose if you with to write by hand or type the PN?! what?!
The cases are long with so much irrelevant word in between.
The physical exam is sometimes irrelevant, like explaining how to do a breast exam, which is forbidden in the test.
The examples of the patient note, the DD and work are disorganized and sometimes doesn't make enough sense.
I wouldn't recommend that book, It has some side notes about sag ways, and tips how to convey empathy which are nice.

40 Excellent Cases -- great

These are very useful. The cases don't follow the typical checklist format and instead there are dialogues between the doctor and the patients but still it's very well-organized and the Kindle version is superb -- true to form, it's a print replica, with proper pages and clear readable fonts. I especially like the notes and tips on each page. They encourage me to reconsider how to explain details to the patient, and to contemplate on bedside manners. The differentials are also quite helpful.
