IF YOU ARE READY TO TAKE A STEP INTO YOURSELF...

The Ego’s Code, came to me at a time when I needed it. I don’t believe in coincidences - I got the book through ‘deception’ - it landed in my hands to review but I think I was meant to read it for my own development. It was my time for Clayton John Ainger to cross my path and teach me a few things.
The Ego’s Code has a magnetic quality – I haven’t been able to put it down since it was mailed to me and even then, it dictates how much I should read at a particular time. It is as though the pages say: “that’s enough now... meditate on that and come back to me later..”
The Ego’s Code is for anyone on a journey to find themselves; who do not understand their negativity; who have reached that point in their lives when they need the last few pieces of the puzzle to complete something they feel is missing.
I enjoyed reading the book, but it is like the words went inside me and dispersed into my consciousness to do their work. I can’t find much to say, but each reader will get something different from it. It’s addictive, it’s informative, it’s interesting, it’s relevant, it’s beneficial, it’s uplifting and it is everything you need if you are ready - I called it ‘my daily bread’.
A couple of days ago I mislaid it. I was frantic. After the second day of being without the book, I threw my hands up in exasperation and in desperation and appealed: “God, please help me find the book!”, and within seconds (or minutes) there, in a place I had looked several times, was the book.
It didn’t surprise me though, the book instructs you how to make things happen - it put me in tune with my spirit guides, who I have since developed a strong relationship with. The Ego’s Code was instrumental in me completing the Spirit of Queens in 7 days! I am not sure what it will do for other readers, but I would strongly recommend reading this book, and whether you start reading it immediately, or put it down and wait for a day when you have an overwhelming desire to reach for it - it will be the right time.

Groundbreaking work on the human ego

This is a beautiful book. People say "Don't judge a book by its cover", but in this case that old chestnut doesn't apply. For me, the cover itself was enough to spark my spiritual appetite. The body of text inside is extremely well written. Clayton has proved he is indeed a writer. Each sentence is carefully constructed and leads the reader by the hand in a clear and compassionate way. The overall structure has a clear flow, starting with the nature of the ego (negative beliefs) we all have, how to move towards your truth, and then living that truth. The author regularly refers to his own life, engendering a trustworthy relationship with the reader.
More to the point, the book contains many "nuggets" of wisdom and inspiration that I found very useful for my own life. This mainly centers around how to USE the contents of our "egos" for spiritual growth and greater awareness (rather than "bashing" the ego and seeing it as something that needs to be avoided/eradicated, as seems to be the case in some other spiritual texts). This work is extremely important as it encourages us to truly see this "ego" for what it is and LEARN from the messages it is giving us for our development as full human beings.
My only minor comment would be that, personally as a general rule, I'm not that into "book exercises". This is not a criticism of the book itself, but relates to a personal preference I have about self-help books in general. Others benefit greatly from such exercises (as I can see from the other reviews on here), so it certainly does not detract from the book at all or its text.
I have had the pleasure of working with Clayton in the past (as a client of his spiritual work) and I know the man and his integrity. This, his first book, is a great testament to that. I was slightly nervous before reading it, because it was someone I knew and respected, and hoped it would live up to his teachings. It certainly did that and delighted me with its clarity of expression.
A groundbreaking and inspirational work that will contribute greatly to our understanding of our "inner chatter" and how to move beyond this into our full potential.

Brilliant !

Clayton Ainger is a really clever man. It has been said before and I'm sure it will be said again ! The Ego's Code is a fantastic book and it has the heart and soul of Clayton within it.
I have been lucky enough to take part in a series of Corporate workshops run by Clayton and Lindsay Ainger and although they were superb and really enlightening the nature of these workshops meant that we only touched on the content of the Ego's Code. Although Clayton did manage to reduce me to tears in front of all my work colleagues during and exercise on values ! Lesson learnt you can't put worries in a box for a while but don't leave them there for too long without dealing with them and moving on. If you do one day the lid will come off the box and they all bite you on the bum all at once ! Thanks for that lesson Clayton.
Much of the content of the Ego's Code was familiar to me and some of it is probably thousands of years old and has been taught in many different ways in past. However ........
With the Ego's Code Clayton has taken all of the different aspects, spiritual, scientific, psychological etc. and woven them into a cohesive and clear description of how to make a real and significant difference to your personal wellbeing including the how and why which for an old cynic like me is really important. The section on how your habits can actually change the way that your Brain is wired is fascinating.
Understanding the content of the Ego's Code on an intellectual level is great and a massive benefit in its self but in unless you take action you will never see the real benefits. "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got"
The Ego's Code contains excellent and well structured sets of exercises that are not only massively thought provoking but guide you along your Journey in easy to make small steps. this for me is the power and pure mastery of the book.
How many time have we all read personal development books and skipped over the exercises ? Pointless ! Do the exercises at your own pace and learn and grow at your own pace and this will unlock the true potential of the Ego's Code.
I really enjoyed the read and I plan to go back through the book and complete the exercises. Already I'm seeing the good that comes back when you hand it out and that's only a small step in the last 2 days !
I really hope you enjoy the book and get as much from it as many people have. Just remember "you don't have to be great to start but you do have to start to be great !"
