A very important book and a very important mission

As the author of the book "The Doctor Who Cures Cancer," I believe "Radical Remissions is a big step forward towards creating critical mass.

Turner points out in her book that not one doctor she asked who had personally witnessed a Radical Remission had tried to publish the case as a classic case study. She also points out that there are over 1,000 reports of "spontaneous remissions" that have been reported in the medical literature, but that they weren't being pursued by researchers as to the commonalities among them. Turner has done that!

She asked the right questions, "Why did each of these people experience a spontaneous remission? What it spontaneous or was it something they did?" She found out that their remissions were due to something they did.

Turner also highlights how it is by focusing on the anomalies that new discoveries are made. Whether it be Dr. Revici's discoveries, the discovery of penicillin, etc, it is almost always in the exceptional case where the discovery is made.

The book then goes forth to expand on the 9 biggest commonalities that she uncovered so that cancer patients can try them for themselves.

Turner continues to collect more cases to help verify her findings. In her book, she calls her findings a hypothesis. She wants to see more attention devoted to her data to confirm and expand her findings.

We can be sure that the cancer industry will close ranks and not follow through on Turner's goal just as they have for the past 100 years. But the book and her continued mission is a GIGANTIC step towards greater awareness about the real ways to cure cancer.

A DEFINITE READ FOR THOSE GOING THROUGH CANCER

I was diagnosed at 39 with stage IV, ER/PR+, HER2/neu - breast cancer which was found through a bone biopsy of my T5 vertebra. Though I did some western medicine treatments (lumpectomy, radiation to T5, complete hysterectomy, drug to strengthen my bones, and antihormone therapy, I also incorportated a lot of natural means to my healing. I am happy to say I have been in complete remission since May 2013! When I started reading this book, I was amazed at the 9 common things radical remssion survivors were doing because I was, and still am, doing the SAME things! This is a must read for anyone touched by cancer because we don't have to stay narrow minded to western medicine and endure all of the damage and side effects that go along with western treatment. I appreciate Dr. Turner for her research and this book because now those of us that are doing things against the "norm" are being heard and there is proof that you can fight cancer without chemotherapy and/or surgery or you can adopt other ways with minimal western treatment as I did.

encouagement for all

As a physician, I was awestruck by this courageous scientific author's willingness to foray into an area that defies classical scientific mathematical scrutiny. These examples will be met with some derision from the medical community, fearful that it will send their patients scrambling for unconventional treatments. Yet what I agree with most is that there is no one treatment for a cancer. Multiple factors must be addressed to overcome this disorder. This book confirms what my 30 year career in oncology has taught me: that to emerge from or to resist the development of a cancerous state, it requires a mind, body, spirit approach. Bravo to the author.

Meteorology Math for beginners

For years I was searching for a meteorology text which would explain in simple terms the mathematical aspects of synoptic meteorology in terms that I could understand. This book has really helped me understand the mathematics behind the dynamics and forecasting that I have been using for 20 years.

Excellent book. Very applicable to synoptic scale forecasting. Excellent treatment of dynamics. I am not sure why the author ordered the chapters the way he did - - I might suggest a couple other different ways to structure the material, which prevents it from being 5 stars, but it is still a good text.

Motivating Reading

Right from the beginning I felt motivated to start trying out all the example within the book. Couldn't wait to download linux distribution and test out different vulnerabilities on my own network.

This book is very easy to read and comprehend, even for those with a little more then basic networking knowledge. Great reference to keep on hand in the future as well.

Great reference for those looking for a comprehensive overview of wireless security

The T.J. Maxx data breach of 2007 (the hacking actually started in 2005, but was only detected in 2007), came about due to insecure wireless connectivity. Estimates at the time put the costs for this security fiasco at a staggering $4.5 billion, based on costs of $100 per lost record, in addition to legal, administrative and many others expenditures.

Informative But Also a Commercial for the Foreword Writer

Since the Great Recession began in 2008, more and more people have looked towards entrepreneurship as a solution to joblessness. And with the need for entrepreneurs comes the need for information in books like The Unstoppables: Tapping Your Entrepreneur Power by Bill Schley. Schley is the co-founder of BrandTeamSix, a firm that helps new business owners. But does the book help them?

It may surprise you to discover that the first half of the book reads like a long, dry, White Paper. What's even more shocking is that the book has a multitude of typos, something you don't expect in a traditionally published book such as this. And though Graham Weston, co-founder of Rackspace, wrote the foreword, you may be turned off by the non-stoppable references to his company's success.

The book's saving grace comes in Part II, where the book transforms into a cornucopia of brilliant ideas on the difference between optimizers and entrepreneurs, the importance of teams, how to sell, and how to market your company. That in itself makes the book worth getting and keeping as a reference guide for entrepreneurs.

The book concludes by sharing why entrepreneurship is so important for America. Schley even gives suggestions as to how to deliver business ownership classes in schools and universities. The ideas make a very interesting read.

If you can get past the typos and the long commercial for Rackspace, you will learn a lot from The Unstoppables.

Entrepreneurship for Everyone

I managed to read "The UnStoppables" in one sitting. I found it informative, easy to read and even inspiring. This book debunks the myth that entrepreneurship is only for a privileged few people. You don't need a fancy MBA to start your own business, but you do need to be in the right frame of mind--you have to start thinking like an entrepreneur. "The UnStoppables" teaches you how to do that. Highly recommended.

The Unstoppables has reaffirmed my approach to entrepreneurship and more importantly has given me actionable ideas for applying the concept of being unstoppable toward the success of my organization. The case studies found in the book clearly support the premise, even though derived from many non-business settings. Bill Schley writes an engaging and entertaining book with a powerful message leaving the reader feeling empowered.

Not a fan of this one...

Not my favorite. In fact, this book left me a little sick to my stomach.

First, the romance begins when they are twelve and I have to say, I was with Rune' s mom on this one. They were way to young for such an intense relationship.

Second, she had already had a super intense relationship with an older boy who turned out to be unhinged. She was barely 12. What kind of parent is cool with a twelve year old girl having an older boyfriend and going on dates and being that serious at that age. I know she did some fibbing near the end but her parents should have been more aware. They were way too clueless. (Plus, she has how many more stalkers and slightly too obsessed boys in her life later? That was a little too much to swallow.)

Third, what kind of mom lets her 12/13 year old stay alone while she is out of town and expects her to cover for her at work when she has headaches. I get it, they were migraines, but no way should her child be covering her shifts. And it doesn't matter what was going on with Faith' s aunt, Faith should have been her number 1 priority.

Fourth, it got a little too Wuthering Heights for a while there. I don't mean that as a compliment and I'm not saying the stories were the same either. The similarities were in the needless torture. They tortured each other using their love against one another. Not as cruelly or wildly as Heathcliff and Catherine but purposely, selfishly, immaturely, and unnecessarily. Come on, at least Heathcliff and Catherine had a reason they couldn't be together. Unless you count Rune' s "teenage boy needs" as a reason, Rune and Faith had no reason other than an unwillingness to be honest. Of course they were just children so I can't say I was really routing for them to get together until the end. The intensity of their relationship at such a young age was uncomfortable to read.

Then at the end, it was kind of a let down. They went through all this years of torture and now they are finally at an age were puberty has wound down and more adult like emotions and responses have kicked in. I, as the reader, am finally on board with their love and all they get is a fizzle of a conclusion. It was hardly satisfying.

As I said, not my favorite.

Reused story from her other books and way too much self-inflicted emo-angst

This story was very frustrating. The reviewer who said that Rune and Faith torment each other for no good reason other than because the plot would fall apart without it was completely correct - the story could have been a quarter of the length and much better if they hadn't been playing stupid games with each other about "I love you, I love you not".
The author tries to save all of the crazy in the end by justifying Rune's behavior with him not wanting to be all creepy-stalker like her previous boyfriend, but honestly, it didn't work. They were thirteen/fourteen -- it should have been perfectly fine for them to just be friends and honestly, it doesn't paint Rune in the most flattering light for him to be using another girl to distract him from the girl he supposedly really loves.
True love doesn't play games.
Lastly, because I've read a lot of Melanie Marks' stories in the last few days, I noticed that some of the scenes were reused from other stories, almost word for word. That was very disappointing and frustrating. I have no idea why she did that or how she thought that would be okay - did she not expect her readers to read her other books?

this book is more amazing than any book i have ever read. the story is the mosg beautiful love story i have ever heard and positive that i ever will. not only is it a beautiful story but it is also beautifully written. I cried half way threw and my tears did not stoo coming until about an hour after i fished te book, and i have never cried because of a book. in my opinion there are three kinds of books; ones that are bad so you dont recomend them, ones that are pretty good o you recomend them and then there are the ones that are so amazing and special, that you want them for yourself so you dont recomend them. i was seriously considering writting a horrible review for this book because it is the kind you want for yourself, but after i read i i saw that it was rated 2 stars and thought thi auther deserves the truth even though im kinda hoping no one else reads thjs book. anhway this is by far and i mean far my favorite book and trust me i have read alot over my years. so i highly recomend thus book even though i dont want anyone to read it.
